How To 8: Invite Friends
Why should you invite your friends to Hitflip? Because then you can swap and have fun together. Inviting your Friends is one way to increase your own Hitflip community. Well, inviting new members to Hitflip is also a way to increase your flips account. You will receive 3 free flips for every active new Hitflip community member you have invited. This means up to three DVDs, CDs or books.
We already mentioned ‘inviting friends’ in our ‘How to build your Hitflip Community‘ page. Here you will find more detailed information on how easy its actually is to invite new users to Hitflip. Even if you can’t think of anyone right now who you would like to invite, you should continue reading since there are options to invite people that you do not even know yet.
First of all you should go to your ‘Invite friends‘ page in order to see all the options to invite friends. You will find a link to this page in your right navigation. Simply click on ‘Invite friends‘.
You will see that you have 4 different options to tell friends about Hitflip:
1.) Invite friends by email
One way to invite friends is by email. You tell us who you want to invite and we send an invitation email to them. You do not even have to type in all the names and email addresses since you have the option to import contacts from your email provider, Outlook or Thunderbird. Simply click on ‘Import contacts‘
For importing contacts from any email provider just enter your email address and password for your email account and click on ‘Import’
The next page will show all names and email addresses found. If you do not want to invite specific people just untick the appropriate box. Below the list of contacts you will find the message text which you can change if you like.
Simply click on ‘Invite now’ when you have made your changes.
Instead of importing emails from an email provider you can also import from your mail client.
In order to find out how exactly you can import contacts from your email client just click on ‘How to export contacts’.
Importing contacts automatically is the fastest way to add contacts. Please note that you always can exclude contacts from being invited. If however you only want to invite specific friends you can also choose to ‘Invite individually‘ by clicking on the appropriate button.
You will be transferred to a page which gives you the option to insert names and appropriate email addresses but also lets you change the message text.
If you need more space to fill in names and email addresses simply click on ‘Send message to more friends’
When you are finished, scroll down and click on the ‘Send’ button. We will notify you whenever a friend of yours signs up to become a new member of our Hitflip community.
2.) Invite friends by advertising banner
If you have your own blog or website, then this option might be interesting for you. You can find many attractive banners and the corresponding code by clicking on ‘To the banner ads‘
In order to integrate the banner with your website or blog just copy and past the code for a specific banner into your website code.
3.) Invite friends through link
You would like to write a personal email to your friends in order to invite them or would like to post a link on your Blog, Forum or MySpace page? Then you can simply use your special link for inviting friends.
You can see that its a simple URL which includes a personal User ID so that we will know that your friends used your link to find us and consequently can grand you the 3 free flips.
4.) Invite friends offline
Do you prefer to communicate offline with your friends, or do not necessarily have their email? Then you also have the chance to invite them offline. How? Just print out a flyer or note including your special Hitflip link and give them to your friends. If you want to get a lot of free flips – just give them to anyone you know.
