How To 4: Find your favourite items
If you are new to Hitflip you might ask yourself how to find the items that interest you most. Here you will learn how to find those DVDs, CDs and books that you have been looking for to swap for quite some time. Hitflip offers you several search options which will be explained here.
1.) Search option: Use the search field
You have probably already seen the search field at the top of the page. There you can just enter a search term and decide which media category should be searched.
2.) Search option: Go through the categories
You can go to our DVD, Games, Books, Music CDs or Audiobook section by using the top navigation. You can get there either by clicking on the media type you want to search, in the top navigation,
or if you are at the entry page (Home) you can find the different categories in your left navigation panel. Click on ‘DVD Categories’ if you are interested in DVDs for example.
Once you clicked on the media type you are interested in, you will find all the categories for the specific media. You can choose the category which interests you most. Here are the Music categories for example:
Please note that some categories are so big that there are further subcategories. Pop Music is such a case:
After choosing a specific category, you will also find an additional section on the left navigation bar called ‘We Recommend …’. There you will find our recommended items from the category you are interested in.
Simply click on a cover and you will see the details about the product we recommended.
3.) Search option: Check our Top Lists
Below the list of categories in the specific DVD, music, books, etc. sections you will find a choice of top lists.
Feel free to browse all the top lists in order to find media items you desire. Please note that you can see some of the ‘Now relisted’ items on the bottom of your start page. The ‘Now Relisted’ lists are especially valuable since all those items are immediately available if you have enough flips and credit.
The ‘Highly demanded but not offered’ lists are useful since you can check what’s in demand and specifically offer those items if they are in your library. That way you can be sure that those items will be swapped right away. You can build up your amount of flips very fast in this way .
4.) Search option: Advanced Search
You have probably also noticed our ‘Advanced Search‘ option. On the right side, next to the standard search field, you will find the ‘Advanced Search‘ link.
On the Advanced Search page you will have several options to search for items. You can search by Item type, EAN or Title and there are many options to help you find what you are interested in.
You can find items which are immediately available or check which items have been on Hitflip for more then 4 weeks. If you do not want to find any items for adults you can exclude those from the search results.
Those are the 4 major ways to get to your favourite item on Hitflip. Do you have enough flips? Then go to your Hitflip Account and get a new DVD, CD or Book.
If you do not have enough flips, go to ‘Advanced Search‘ and search for ‘all highly requested items’. Check if you have some of those at home and offer them on Hitflip. This way you will increase your flip amount very fast to enable you to order items from other users.
