Hitflip in the Telegraph

January 7th, 2008

Hitflip received some great coverage over the Christmas period, with the Telegraph twice choosing Hitflip as one of the best sites to use to get rid of unwanted Christmas presents.

The Telegraph write that: “Hitflip, for example, allows you to build a virtual library of all the DVDs, games, CDs and books you’re prepared to swap, and charges about 79p per item.”

We also received a short mention in Web User, who say that “The UK version of the German swap site charges 79p to swap most items, which might seem off-putting for low-value trades but should also weed out the jokers.” . As always, you can read the full articles here.

New Press Release

November 26th, 2007

No more gambling with game prices

Swapping site offers way to get value for money on games

London, 26 November, 2007 – UK gamers are losing almost half the value of a game each time they sell it on, even if it’s a near-new, new release title.

Research shows gamers spend up to £40 on a single new release console title. Yet when reselling, the price drops down to between £20 and £30, leaving a loss of around half the original cost of the game.

Hitflip, the UK’s largest game, DVD, CD and book swapping site offers an alternative to all those who are losing money from selling their near-new games.

From Halo 3, to Call of Duty to some of the more classic arcade games, www.hitflip.co.uk has more than 1,000 games available for swap at any given time.

Any gamer knows how frustrating it is to buy a new game at full price, only to have to settle for selling it at a reduced rate once they’ve played it,” says Joanna Wilson, Marketing Manager, Hitflip UK

With Hitflip, gamers can swap their titles for those of the same value – so you no longer have to settle for getting less than what you paid for.”

Swapping sites are steadily growing in popularity throughout the UK and Hitflip offers one of the most extensive ranges of games for all platforms.

Joining Hitflip is easy and takes less than 30 seconds. There is no subscription required and users pay only 79p per transfer, which protects them against fraud and damaged media.

Football’s staying home

November 22nd, 2007

So, the day after D-day, and here at Hitflip we’re still trying to get over the shock that England hasn’t qualified for Euro 2008. Yesterday’s 3-2 loss to Croatia makes it the first time since the 1994 World Cup that England won’t be playing in a major tournament.

As sad as we are though, poor Steve McClaren must be feeling even worse after today’s news that both him and assistant Terry Venables have been sacked.

Rather than wallow in self-pity, we believe it’s best to look on the bright side, and have a few suggestions to help you pick yourself up!

If you think you could have played better yourself, why not hone your skills and pick up a few new tricks by watching Soccer Tactics - On the Attack? Maybe if the England team had seen the DVD, they’d have fared better in yesterday’s match!

Perhaps you were shaking your fist at the screen with frustration during Wednesday’s game, as McClaren stood back to let England crash and burn, and you’d like to take control, at least virtually, by playing International Soccer Superstar Pro.

Or maybe you prefer to relive happier times, like the legendary 1966 World Cup final, when England beat Germany 4-2 to become World Champions, 2001’s stunning 5-1 defeat of Germany, or for something a bit more recent, proving that England still has some hope, take a look at the Euro 2004 Official Review DVD, where we at least made it to the quarter finals!
